Mounted Breaker Manufacturers Bureau (MBMB)
Product Focus
The Mounted Breaker Manufacturers Bureau (MBMB) conducts activities on behalf of manufacturers of mounted hydraulic breakers.
Mission
MBMB's major focus has been the development, through a technical subcommittee, of an AEM Tool Energy Rating for hydraulic breakers. It is exploring interfacing issues with excavator manufacturers and other issues, such as noise abatement, safety labeling and statistical programs.
Bureau Activities
MBMB has developed a hydraulic breaker safety manual. The Bureau is also looking at the issue of worldwide harmonization of a hydraulic mounted breaker noise test document.
The MBMB certification program for its AEM Tool Energy Rating continues in high gear. As of April 1998, testing and certification procedures have been set, a testing agency is in place and manufacturers have been certified under the AEM breaker standard.
Once a manufacturer's breaker tools have been certified, MBMB members have agreed to actively promote this distinction in their marketing materials, including prominent display of the Tool Energy Rating decal. AEM is also promoting this Tool Energy Rating at industry trade shows.
Statistics
MBMB operates a market statistical program for six size classifications by U.S and Canada.
