Sandra MasonAEM’s Sandra Mason joined a pair of fellow marketing and agricultural leaders as winners of 2024 National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA)’s 2024 Professional Development Awards of Excellence.

The NAMA Professional Development Awards of Excellence honor members of the organization based on outstanding achievement in each of the Professional Development Areas. The awards will be presented in conjunction with the NAMA Fall Conference, Oct. 14-16 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This year, NAMA recognized Mason in the Public Relations area, G&S Business Communications’ Erin Kolstad in the Marketing Communications area, and Farm Progress’s Cheri Knoy in the Sales area.

“I am deeply honored to be recognized by NAMA with the Professional Development Award of Excellence for Public Relations. This award reflects the hard work and dedication of the entire Communications and PR team and the incredible innovation and impact we have collectively championed on behalf of the association,” said Sandra Mason, APR Director of Public Relations at AEM. “Personally, this recognition is both humbling and inspiring, as my work with AEM has been a journey of growth, allowing me to deepen my commitment to this dynamic industry and the people who drive it forward.”

Mason serves as Director of Public Relations for AEM, where she has helped to not only substantially broaden the association's reach and reputation, but also to raise the profile of the importance of the agriculture industry. She joined NAMA in 2018 and, in addition to participating in conferences and meetings, she serves on the Student NAMA Committee as well as Communications Co-Chair for the Badger Chapter and has participated in Best of NAMA judging. She also served as a presenter at the Small Marketing Department workshop at the Agri-Marketing Conference.

Mason joined AEM in 2016 after 11 years at American Family Insurance, providing strategic internal communications consulting. She worked closely with the Chief Financial Officer and the controller, reinsurance and investment departments, as well as media relations. Prior to that she was with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, where she served as communications manager for Southwest Wisconsin highway projects. Mason has a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from UW-Milwaukee and obtained her accreditation in public relations (APR) designation from the Public Relations Society of America

"Under Sandra's direction, our PR efforts have done so much to raise the visibility of AEM and help tell the story of the equipment manufacturing industry," said AEM Vice President of Communications and Public Relations Kate Huskin. "Her leadership has produced outstanding and measurable results, and she is very much deserving of this recognition."
