On Friday, POLITICO Focus launched “Building America’s Promise,” a new digital content hub sponsored by CONEXPO-CON/AGG and AEM. The experience highlights the people and innovations behind the modern-day construction industry and their efforts to transform the sector through cutting-edge technologies, sustainability initiatives, and workforce solutions.

The hub incudes a feature story and video interview with AEM President and CEO Megan Tanel, who discussed the industry’s economic footprint, challenges facing the industry, and how the industry has evolved. In the countdown to CONEXPO-CON/AGG, Tanel also highlighted the trade show’s important role in bringing together leaders in the construction industry, policymakers, and other thought leaders.

“CONEXPO-CON/AGG is an opportunity for the entire industry to come together -- all of the associations, the equipment manufacturers, components manufacturers, service providers,” said Tanel in her interview with POLITICO. “We discuss policy and its impact, and we take that moment to really let the world know how important this industry is.”

In the months ahead, POLITICO Focus will launch new video interviews on the hub from leaders in the construction equipment industry, captured during AEM’s Celebration of Construction on the National Mall. Featured executives will include:

  • Brian Bieller, President, BOMAG Americas, Inc.
  • Tony Fassino, Group President of Construction Industries, Caterpillar Inc.
  • Terry Dolan, Head of CNH Construction Brands
  • Rod Bull, CEO, Komatsu North America Corp.

“Building America’s Promise” marks the second partnership between CONEXPO-CON/AGG and POLITICO this year. In May, CONEXPO-CON/AGG sponsored the POLITICO Live event, “Manufacturing in America: Navigating the Administration’s New Roadmap.” The event’s featured speakers included AEM Board of Directors Vice Chair and Caterpillar Senior Vice President Philip Kelliher, members of Congress, and former administration officials, who discussed the policies and trends impacting manufacturers and the construction industry.
