The Global Alliance for Construction Equipment (GACE) —a coalition of leading industry associations from six major economies—yesterday announced a unified commitment to advancing decarbonization across the construction equipment sector. GACE includes the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM/USA), China Construction Machinery Association (CCMA/China), Committee for European Construction Equipment (CECE/Europe), Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association (CEMA/Japan), Indian Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association (I-CEMA/India), and Korean Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association (KOCEMA/Korea).
Together, GACE members will advocate for public policies that support the development of infrastructure essential to deploying a diverse mix of energy technologies. These include electricity, batteries, hybrid systems, advanced diesel, and other low-carbon fuels—all critical to accelerating the industry's transition to a more sustainable future.
GACE also emphasizes the importance of global regulatory alignment and the adoption of international voluntary consensus standards. Harmonizing these frameworks will be key to reducing the industry's carbon footprint and enabling the widespread adoption of innovative technologies.
As a truly global industry, construction equipment manufacturers require coordinated policy support to unlock the full potential of decarbonization solutions. GACE’s collective action aims to ensure that governments and stakeholders worldwide create the enabling conditions necessary for this transformation. Read the GACE Statement here.
