John Thornton

President / GS Global Resources, Inc.

John graduated UW Oshkosh with a BBA in Accounting and began his career working for KPMG in Milwaukee and achieved a CPA certification. He joined GS Hydraulics (now GS Global Resources, Inc.) in 1997 and acquired the company in 2002 changing his title to Owner and President. GSGR are the makers of custom engineered hydraulics, electronics, software and mechanical systems and components for original equipment manufacturers. Nearly everything is private labeled for their customers. GSGR has 200 employees, 50 of them are engineers.  

GSGR has two subsidiaries:
•    Joral is custom sensor manufacturer focused on non-contact position feedback (mostly rotary and some linear)
•    ADC Equipment Innovations manufactures ROPS/FOPS certified operator structures

Past Board duties include: 
•    Custom Equipment (Hybrid Lifts) Board of Advisors (2018-2023)
•    AEM Finance Committee (2023-Present)
•    Utility Expo 2023 & 2025 Management Committee
•    VP-Finance, Young Executives Chair, and President of the FPDA Motion Control Solutions Network (2005-2010)
