Construction Equipment External Liaison Committee (CEELC)

Mission

AEM’s Construction Equipment External Liaison Committee (CEELC) focuses on building and maintaining contacts with external organizations in the U.S. and other parts of the world for the purpose of promoting industry interests and advancing industry consensus positions on technical matters related to construction equipment.

The CEELC works closely with the AEM CE Standards and Regulations Committee (CESRC), which is responsible for identifying, evaluating, prioritizing, and developing the consensus AEM position on technical issues related to standards or regulations impacting construction equipment.

Membership

CEELC membership is open to technical personnel at the executive level of AEM construction equipment companies who have a demonstrated commitment, within AEM, to openness and sharing of information they acquire on emerging product issues and active participation with their industry colleagues in carrying out the committee's mission.

Joint Technical Liaison Meeting (JTLM)

The CEELC serves as the coordinating committee for US participation in the annual Construction Equipment Joint Technical Liaison Meeting (JTLM). Members of this committee collaborate with the Committee for European Construction Equipment (CECE), the Japan Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association (CEMA), and the Korean Equipment Manufacturers Association (KOCEMA) to plan and hold the JTLM in conjunction with a major tradeshow in a three-year cycle. Typically, AEM hosts the JTLM in CONEXPO-CON/AGG years, CECE hosts JTLM in BAUMA years, and CEMA or KOCEMA host during Intermat years.

Definitions

"External liaison" is defined as the communication/interaction between any organizational entity of AEM or a member thereof (when acting in an AEM capacity) and any external organization regarding technical matters of interest to AEM or its member companies.

"External organizations" include standards developing organizations, legislative bodies, regulatory agencies, other trade associations, equipment dealer/distributor groups, customer groups, and safety organizations.
